According to the Financial Express, Bangladesh's Khulna Shipyard has won a government contract for a series of five patrol vessels to be equipped with machinery and equipment from the UK.

Construction reportedly began in June 2010, though it won't be officially inaugurated until March. The vessels, for the Bangladesh Navy, are around 50 by seven metres and were designed for speeds of 20-25 knots.

Completion is planned for December 2013.
