Officials in Washington State have recovered the bodies of two individuals who perished after a shrimp boat sank near the city of Everett late last month.
On Saturday, May 31, local police and other personnel found the bodies of two deceased victims during an underwater search in the area where the boat sank in Possession Sound near Everett ten days prior.
The recovered victims included a man aged over 60 and a woman aged over 40. The male victim was later confirmed to be the owner of the ill-fated boat while the female was his co-worker.
No trace has yet been found of the owner's son, who was also on the boat when it sank.
A man in his 50s was rescued shortly after the boat sank on May 21. City of Everett officials said this individual is the only survivor among the four people who were on board.
Saturday's search and recovery effort was conducted jointly by the Seattle Police Department's Harbor Patrol, Pierce County Marine Operations, and nonprofit Innerspace Exploration Team.
A remotely operated vehicle was used to inspect the wreckage of the boat, which lies at a depth of 165 feet (50 metres).
