Nigeria-based marine services provider Homeland Integrated Offshore Services (HIOSL) has recently taken delivery of 'Guardian 2' from Damen Shipyards. Following the delivery of 'Guardian 1' in early 2014, the vessel is the second of Damen's fast crew supplier vessel series delivered to the Nigerian operator.
With a length of 33.6 metres and a top speed of 28 knots, the vessel is able to transport 75 people as well as cargo on its aft deck to offshore rigs.
The design was implemented to merge the functionalities of a crew boat and a patrol vessel for security purposes. The vessel will be used for maritime security, crew transfers and cargo supply.
