Malaysia's Boustead Naval Shipyard has received a US$207 million contract from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence for the service life extension programme of the Kasturi-class corvettes.
Under the contract, Boustead will provide service and maintenance to the 'KD Kasturi' and the 'KD Lekir' over a period of 53 months.
The vessels were built by Blohm + Voss Shipyard in Kiel, Germany. The vessels were launched in May 1983 and commissioned a year later in August.
