The body of Yoo Byung-eun, the head of the family in charge of the doomed South Korean ferry 'Sewol', was found this week in a plum orchard, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Mr Yoo had been on the run following the ferry disaster, with his family alleged to have cut cost corners and disregarded maritime safety measures on its vessels in order to increase profits.
Subsequent to his discovery, a manhunt had been dedicated to his capture, with wanted posters displayed around the country and on national television, continued WSJ.
The 'Sewol' was managed by ship operator Chonghaejin Marine Co, a company controlled by Mr Yoo and his family. However, lawyers representing Mr Yoo claimed he did not own any shares in the company, with control retained by his sons instead, concluded WSJ.
