Russian naval architecture firm Stapel has unveiled design images of a new Ro-Pax ferry that will serve the Taymyr Dolgano-Nenets Municipal District in northern Russia.
The Project RDB 56.06 vessel will be capable of coastal and inland navigation and will be equipped to load and offload passengers and vehicles even on unprepared shores.
Design work on the ferry is being undertaken in compliance with Russian Classification Society requirements including those under the ice30 notation, thus allowing her to serve a number of ports along the Northern Sea Route in the Russian Arctic.
The vessel will have a crew of eight and a capacity of 62 passengers and either 10 cars or four dump trucks on her vehicle deck. The superstructure's upper deck will have cabins for up to 38 passengers while the main deck saloon will house 24 seated passengers.
Space will also be available for passengers with limited mobility.
The ferry's propulsion system will deliver a service speed of 10 knots and a range of 3,500 kilometres.
