The Philippines: A new fast ferry service between Davao City and the east coast municipality of Lupon, has recently been launched.
The service now only takes slightly over an hour, as opposed to 3.5 hours in the past. The ferry deployed for the service is the 125-passenger 'Danspenta I' which can travel at speeds up to 25 knots.
The fully-airconditioned service runs three times a day.
Davao City Mayor, Rodrigo R Duterte said that the launch of the fast craft service would help economic activities in the two cities.
Lupon Mayor Domingo Lim added that the service would give people a faster and more convenient means of transport.
