The fleet of the Cooperativa Sant'Andrea, based in Amalfi, Salerno, Italy, has been modernised with the launch of the new 200 passenger capacity vessel 'Mizar'.
The vessel measures 22.5 metres in length with a beam of 5.7 metres. The craft was built by local shipbuilder Nautica Store in Salerno.
The Cooperativa Sant'Andrea began in 1991. Since then it has developed an integrated system of maritime services that covers the area from Costiera Amalfitana to Sorrento and Capri, operating ferry services, tourist excursions, water taxis and charter services.
The other two 15 metre passenger vessels were built in 2011. This new craft distinguishes itself for its distinct design, quality of construction, and care for details.
The boat features two decks: a main deck that is completely occupied by the superstructure, and a sundeck that is reachable through two stern staircases. Beneath these staircases are two toilets.
The vessel's hull was built FRP, while the superstructure is constructed of aluminium. This mixed-material solution allows Nautica Store to personalise the vessel for different clients while maintaining the same hull.
A pair of MAN 2842 LE main engines powers the craft, coupled with Twin Disc 5135 gearboxes equipped with trolling valves.
