Aqua Expeditions, a company under the Ponant Explorations Group, recently unveiled the sixth vessel that will join its fleet.

Scheduled for launching in February 2026, the 15-suite Aqua Lares will be the first ultra-luxe expedition cruise ship available to book by the cabin in the Seychelles, according to Aqua Expeditions.

Spanning six decks, the 77.4-metre Aqua Lares will accommodate just 30 guests across 12 suites and three twin cabins. Suites range from 13 to 66 square metres in area, and these include three generous owner’s suites.

The ship will have a gross tonnage of 2,400, thus giving her the highest GT-to-guest ratio in the Aqua Expeditions fleet.

The onboard expedition and recreation vehicles will include three 6.5-metre and two 8.5-metre offshore exploration tenders, paddle boards, and kayaks. Space will also be available for snorkels, diving gear, and bicycles.

The crew of 33 will include three guides. Other onboard amenities will meanwhile include a panoramic sun deck with bar and lounge, a cinema, a gym, a saloon, an indoor dining room, a shaded outdoor dining area, a sauna, a massage room, a spa, and two whirlpools.

Aqua Lares will initially sail on five-, nine-, 10- and 11-night expedition voyages in East Africa.
