Marella Cruises orders new cruise ship pair in €2b+ deal

TUI has signed an agreement with Fincantieri for the design and construction of two new cruise ships for TUI's Marella Cruises brand in a deal exceeding two billion euros.

The ships will be designed specifically for the English market, have a focus on environmental sustainability, and will be delivered in calendar years 2030 and 2032.

"They will redefine premium cruising through refined design, high-quality materials, and a variety of spacious accommodations," said Fincantieri.

Fincantieri has an existing relationship with TUI Cruises, the joint venture between TUI and Royal Caribbean Cruises. This year in February, the yard delivered the cruise ship Mein Schiff Relax, the first of two new concept, dual-fuel powered cruise ships.

Sister Mein Schiff Flow is currently under construction at the Monfalcone shipyard, with delivery scheduled for 2026.

"The project will bring together our expertise in ship design, innovation, and sustainability to deliver vessels that meet the evolving expectations of modern cruise passengers," said Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri.
