China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Weihai) recently handed over two new self-elevating platforms (SEPs) that will be operated as accommodation vessels by local offshore support company CTW (Tianjin) Offshore Engineering.

Rawabi Jub 610 and Rawabi Jub 611 can be deployed in both offshore and shallow waters. A DP2 system ensures each SEP can be accurately positioned and can navigate safely even under challenging sea conditions.

Each vessel has an LOA of 67.2 metres (220 feet), a beam of 40 metres (130 feet), a design draught of 3.3 metres (11 feet), a depth of 6.1 metres (20 feet), and accommodation for up to 150 personnel. Four pile legs each measuring 107 metres (351 feet) long will permit deployment in water depths of up to 65 metres (210 feet).

The accommodation spaces include mess areas, lounges, and medical facilities. The SEPs also feature helicopter decks to facilitate fast transfers to and from shore.

The Tuvalu-registered Rawabi Jub 610 and Rawabi Jub 611 are presently in Saudi Arabia waters, where they have been providing accommodation support for Rawabi Vallianz Offshore Services since February.

Design work on the SEPs was provided by Shanghai-based engineering firm Schulte Marine Concept.
