Singapore-based offshore vessel operator Pacific Radiance recently took delivery of a new catamaran crewboat designed by UK naval architecture firm Chartwell Marine.
Prosperous 6 belongs to a series of Chartwell-designed crewboats that are tailored to the specific needs of the offshore wind industry. Another five vessels from the same series will be delivered to Pacific Radiance.
The vessel has already completed sea trials, achieving over 25 knots at 85 per cent engine load. During a bollard push test, the vessel delivered over 17 tonnes of bollard push.
Chartwell Marine said that, when operating at 20 knots, the vessel used approximately 20 per cent less fuel than competitor vessels of an equivalent length. In addition, the vessel features a low lightship displacement, enabling the transport of payloads of up to 35 tonnes.
The crewboat is loadline compliant and engineered with a large superstructure to support multiple crews and technicians.
Pacific Radiance will operate Prosperous 6 in support of its offshore wind customers in the Asia-Pacific.
