Toll Group in Australia has been awarded a contract by oil and gas exploration company INPEX to design, construct and manage an offshore logistics base in Australia's Northern Territory.
The base will support the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG project.
The contract is valued at A$90 million (US$80.9 million) over 10 years. Toll Group will also provide ongoing logistical support for the project, which is located in the Browse Basin, about 425 kilometres off the northern coast of Western Australia and 800 kilometres south of Darwin.
The NT offshore logistics base will remotely support major offshore facilities in the Ichthys Field. This will include supplying materials to the project's floating production, storage and offloading vessel and central processing facility (FPSO).
Toll will own the INPEX-dedicated facility, which will be used for the storage and distribution of spare parts, equipment and chemicals. The base will be located in Darwin's East Arm Business Park Precinct.
Completion of construction is projected for early 2015, with the facility expected to be fully operational later that year.
