Sinopacific delivers three PSVs to Mexico

Baird Maritime

Sinopacific has delivered three platform supply vessels (PSV) to the shipowner Naviera Petrolera Integral (NPI) at Zhejiang Shipyard.

Commissioned in July 2014, the three vessels were built based on the SP series of offshore support vessels  designed by Sinopacific. The vessels were designed and built to conduct oil and gas exploration in the Gulf of Mexico by Pemex, the largest state-owned oil company in Mexico.

This Sinopacific's first venture into the Mexican market, a strategic move for Sinopacific as they enter a large market of oil and gas production and export.

The small-size SPP17A class PSVs are designed by Shanghai Design Associates (SDA), a subsidiary of Sinopacific. The vessels each have an LOA of 61.8 metres, a breadth of 14.0 metres and a depth of 5.8 metres. The vessels can accommodate 24 people.

Using an all electric propulsion system, the PSVs are equipped with two sets of steerable thrusters on the stern. The main dimensions for the bow and hull lines are optimised to enable a larger deadweight and higher fuel efficiency.
