CDMC Events will be presenting the second Asia OSV Summit from June 19-20, 2014, in Shanghai, China.
It is predicted that the global demand of OSVs in Asia, especially in South East Asia, will witness growth over the next five years, with the amount of orders increasing from the current level of 400 OSVs annually, commented CDMC Events.
Additionally, the OSV industry not only faces formidable technical challenges, but also must adapt to new industry rules.
Indeed, the current OSV fleet may not be sufficient to meet demand due to charterers increasingly stringent requirements and the push for younger and "greener" vessels by regulators.
Yet through constant innovation in safety, design, construction, energy-saving capacity and operating risk reduction, a new and more powerful OSV has become the industry standard.
Thus, the mission of the Asia OSV Summit is to serve members' interests by promoting a robust communication platform that will address the design, construction and operational maintenance of OSV-related facilities.
Under the theme of tackling the opportunities of OSV industry development, more than 330 OSV senior management personnel will attend the upcoming conference, more than 25 international speakers will share their opinions, 20+ sessions will be conducted, 40 one-on-one partnering meetings will occur, and three round table discussions will take place – as well as an awards ceremony.
The event will address ever-changing industry trend relevant to ship-owners, shipbuilders and energy companies. In an innovative interactive format, the summit brings together professional information and personalised commercial solutions to help connect different players in the OSV ecosystem.
