Taiwan's Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) has taken delivery of a new service operation vessel (SOV) built by Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam.
The 103-metre Orient Inspirer is purpose-built for the long-term operation and maintenance of offshore wind farms.
The SOV features a seven-tonne, 3D lifting capability and an integrated walk-to-work system, combining a modern gangway and crane to ensure safe and efficient offshore personnel and cargo transfers.
The working deck has a total area of approximately 700 square metres.
The vessel offers 120 berths with comprehensive living facilities to support extended offshore deployment in comfort.
Equipped with DP2 station keeping and active roll reduction systems, the vessel delivers excellent stability and operability under challenging sea conditions.
Her optimised foreship design enhances seakeeping performance and fuel efficiency, making it a reliable and sustainable solution for offshore wind support operations, according to Vard.
DFO will operate the SOV under charter with Vestas. She will be deployed at the Changfang-Xidao and Zhong Neng wind farms offshore Taiwan.
