The Havyard Group will be providing the design and engineering of a Havyard 832 CD PSV. The vessel is to be built by Norwegian shipbuilder Simek for Havila Shipping.
The vessel is to be delivered in the third quarter of 2010 and will enter into a five-year contract with Maersk Line.
This is the third Havyard 832 CD to be built by Simek. The first, NB 121 'Stril Mariner' is delivered to Simon Møkster Shipping and has a long term contract with BP.
The sister vessel, NB 122 will be delivered to the same owner March 2010.
The vessel is designed by Havyard Design in Fosnavåg, Norway.
The Havyard 832 CD is a medium to large size platform supply vessel with more cargo capacity than existing designs, energy optimised diesel electric propulsion system and fulfils DNV Clean Design.
The Havyard 832 CD measures 80.4 metres by 17.6 metres with a depth to main deck of 7.7 metres.
The 4,000DWT vessel has a deck area of 805 square metres and has accommodation for 25 people. The vessel can achieve a speed of 14.5 knots.
