Lamprell has announced the delivery of a jack-up drilling rig to Abu Dhabi-based National Drilling Company (NDC).
The contract for the NDC rig was signed in October 2011 and is the fourth rig in a series of six being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC.
All six rigs are based on the Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design from Cameron LeTourneau.
The new rig was delivered to the client following the delivery of the third drilling unit, the 'Qarnin', in February of this year. The remaining two rigs for NDC are proceeding on schedule and will be delivered in late 2014/early 2015.
The jack-up rig will be officially named in a ceremony at Lamprell's Hamriyah facility in the UAE, before departing for operations in Abu Dhabi.
