Gulf Coast Shipyard Group (GSCG) has delivered 'Harvey Power', the second of six LNG-fuelled vessels being built for Harvey Gulf International Marine.
The 92-metre offshore supply vessel will be chartered by Shell for their deepwater offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico. With an average speed of 8.3 knots and a 5,397DWT, the dual fuel ship is able to carry 958m3 of fuel oil, 256m3 of methanol and 290m3 of dry bulk.
The vessels exceed the new Tier IV emissions regulations which require lower sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
'Harvey Power' will refuel with LNG at Harvey Gulf's new LNG bunkering facility at Port Fourchon in southern Louisiana. When operating on LNG, the vessel can operate for 19 days before requiring refueling.
