TGS and Geophysical Technology have entered into a four-year strategic collaboration to jointly pursue seismic acquisition projects across shallow-water, transition-zone and deepwater environments worldwide.
The agreement allows the companies to evaluate and execute projects on a case-by-case basis by combining their operational assets and technology.
TGS will contribute deepwater acquisition capabilities, including vessels, ocean bottom node assets, its global supply chain network, project management expertise and financial resources.
Geophysical Technology will provide its nodal recording technology, manufacturing facilities, specialised vessels and experience in land, transition-zone and shallow-water operations across the Americas, Middle East and Africa.
“This collaboration allows us to offer clients a truly integrated seismic solution, from the shoreline to the deepwater, without compromising on quality or efficiency,” said TGS Executive Vice President of Marine Data Acquisition Carel Hooijkaas.
He added that Geophysical Technology's shallow-water and transition-zone capabilities complement TGS's deepwater operations, allowing the companies to combine their expertise across different environments.
Geophysical Technology President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Degner said the partnership would give clients access to deepwater capabilities alongside the company's shallow-water and land acquisition experience.
He added that the arrangement would allow the companies to pursue integrated projects that would be more difficult for either party to deliver independently.
