Indian engineering group Larsen and Toubro's energy unit, LTEH Offshore, has secured an offshore development contract in the Middle East valued at more than INR150 billion ($1.8 billion).
The project covers engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of multiple offshore facilities, with a significant portion of fabrication work to be carried out at the company's manufacturing facilities.
The development includes fixed platforms, subsea pipelines, brownfield modifications and deepwater structures. Larsen and Toubro said the project builds on its experience executing offshore developments over the past four decades.
“The order represents one of the most significant offshore developments currently underway in the Middle East and underscores the growing investments being made to meet future energy demand,” said T Madhava Das, Whole-time Director, Senior Executive Vice President and Head - Energy Hydrocarbon Division at Larsen and Toubro.
He added that the scale and complexity of the project would require engineering expertise and integrated execution across multiple workstreams.
