UK's Serica Energy said on Wednesday that production from its Triton floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the North Sea will not resume before May due to delays in repairs.
It was previously anticipated that critical repairs, following damages from Storm Eowyn in January, would be completed in time for production to resume in mid-to-late March.
The revised timeline follows Serica's discussions with operator Dana Petroleum regarding the necessary repairs.
"Our frustrations with the ongoing performance of the Triton FPSO have been well documented - it is not good enough for Serica, and it is not good enough for our shareholders," CEO Chris Cox said in a statement.
The outages at Triton last year had hampered Serica's annual output.
Due to the ongoing maintenance issues and the performance of the Triton FPSO over the last 12 months, Serica added that it was discussing with Dana all options to secure a lasting improvement in the platform's operating performance.
Last month Serica said that its 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) production outlook for this year was under review.
