Siem Offshore and Subsea 7 have entered into a charter agreement for the offshore subsea construction vessel (OSCV) 'Siem Stingray', which is under construction in Norway.
The diesel-electric 'Siem Stingray' is designed for subsea operation duties such as construction and installation work, inspection and maintenance.
Designed by naval architect STX OSCV, the DP-2-rated vessel measures 120.8 metres in length overall, with a breadth of 23 metres, a draught of 6.6 metres, a deadweight of 5,000DWT, and a cargo deck area of 1,300m2.
Built to accommodate 110 crew and personnel, other special features of the vessel include a 250-tonne anchor handling crane and a 7.2-metre x 7.2-metre ROV moon pool.
The charter shall commence in third quarter 2014 following delivery of the vessel from the Norwegian yard.
