Port operator Rosmorport has ordered the construction of new berths for accommodating passenger vessels in the town of Ugolnye Kopi in the northeastearn Russia.
The construction of the berth is in line with the Russian government's long-term plan to increase maritime traffic along the Anadyr Estuary to and from Ugolnye Kopi, which could currently only accommodate hovercraft and shallow-draught barges.
In addition to the berths, a slope-type coastal reinforcement structure with a total length of 155.7 metres will be built and dredging activities will be carried out in the quay apron to remove an estimated 3,700 cubic metres of material.
Completion of all associated works is expected in the fall of 2021.
