China LNG Shipping (International) Company (CLSICO) has chosen SpeedCast to equip five of its LNG carriers with an always-on broadband telecommunication service.
CLSICO manages the LNG vessel 'Dapeng Sun', the first LNG vessel to be built in China.
With SeaCast, SpeedCast's maritime VSAT service, CLSICO will see significant improvements in its crew welfare as well as a gain in productivity and significant cost savings. The crew can now enjoy unlimited broadband Internet access with no limitations or restrictions on the amount of data transmitted or the time spent online, all for a fixed monthly fee.
From the crew's point of view, this unlimited broadband Internet access, as well as the VoIP service, will considerably improve their work environment and allow them to be in regular contact with their friends and families.
From a business perspective, it is now easier for CLSICO to budget their costs thanks to the monthly fixed fee services provided by SpeedCast for broadband Internet access and connectivity. Moreover, the costs savings attained with Ku-band VSAT compared to L-band are significantly higher. All data exchanges and communications can now be done in real time, with total control over the budget.
The vessels can be integrated with the same applications that are running in their land offices thanks to SpeedCast's maritime VSAT service.
