Climax Portable Machine Tools has opened a new sales, service and rentals depot in South Manchester, UK, to support local customers across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia and to equip them with precision on-site machining and welding systems.
The company's 13th international rentals office, the new depot will offer specialised engineering services, machinist and welder training, and a full line of precision on-site machining and welding equipment. This equipment is widely used across Europe by contractors in naval ship construction and repair, offshore oil and gas repair and maintenance, turbine repair and outage maintenance for power generation, and construction/heavy industry.
Paul Burden has been named managing director for the new facility, and will report directly to Willi Saric, managing director of Climax's European operations.
The new UK facility will supply a variety of portable machine tools and welding systems for sale or rent. These tools including portable boring machines; flange facers; lathes; and the company's newest milling machines – the LM6200 and LM5200 – which can perform both linear milling and gantry milling. The company's AutoBoreWelders and AutoCladders will also be available. These tools enable customers to automate the welding and cladding process.
