The installation of Germany's first offshore wind farm, Alpha Ventus, in the North Sea is progressing. This wind farm will be Germany's first offshore wind farm, consisting of 5MW wind turbines. The wind park will be installed in water depths of up to 30 metres.
To discuss current technical challenges, opportunities and results of offshore wind farms, Germanischer Lloyd is organising the Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference (HOW) on May 12 for developers, turbine and foundation manufactures, engineering consultants, investors and operators of wind turbines.
The Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference covers a wide range of topics, from offshore test fields, to matters of the supply chain, energy yield and the impact of the financial crisis. The conference will cover both big players to newcomers and will offer both the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge. The conference will be conducted in English.
