PPG Protective and Marine Coatings has launched Sigmadur One, a single-pack urethane polyester finish coat designed for onboard maintenance applications.
Instead of a typical two-pack finish, Sigmadur One comes in one pack, so no mixing is required, thereby reducing mistakes during application, saving time and leading to a faster return to service. The new product has been developed for durable performance, ease of use for onboard maintenance and good ship aesthetics.
The coating is suitable for decks, deck fittings and superstructures, and can be applied on virtually all ship types. It is compatible with existing aged coatings, easy to apply and quick drying. Sigmadur One offers a high-gloss finish providing good colour and gloss retention, and comes in an extensive range of colours.
PPG's Sigma Colour Network centres can be found in all key ports along the main trading routes, with a modern colour identification computer and an advanced blending process to ensures that all tinted coatings match the colour standards of any corporate livery or owner preferences. The system is also supported by the Sigmacare onboard maintenance crew support package.
