Kongsberg Seatex's eBird system for lateral, vertical and roll streamer control in marine seismic acquisition has received an upgrade with the release of AcuWing for eBird.
Since its launch in 2009, eBird has attracted significant attention within the seismic acquisition community. The bird-shaped device provides lateral, vertical and roll streamer control during seismic acquisition, enabling the surveyor to have positive control of streamer roll orientation, depth and separation during the whole operation, including deployment and retrieval.
The introduction of AcuWing enables the simple replacement of wings for different operational applications. AcuWing takes a novel approach to streamer positioning by applying the latest hydroacoustics technology via interchangeable eBird wings. Wings can be replaced quickly and easily on a standard eBird, utilising the same power and communication lines.
