Niigata receives large engine order from Japanese Coast Guard

Niigata Powers Systems, Japan, has received an order for 22 sets of high-speed diesel engines for patrol vessels of the Japan Coast Guard.

These engines will comply with IMO Tier 2 which stipulates the reduction of nitrogus oxide by 15 to 20 percent compared with the current regulations.

The last engine is scheduled to be delivered by the end of November 2011. Total contract price is US$3.5 billion.
