Norwegian salmon farmer Mowi has reported a total harvest volume of 133,000 tonnes gutted weight equivalent (GWT) for the second quarter of 2025. The volume exceeded the company's previous guidance of 130,000 tonnes and is up from 110,000 tonnes in the same quarter last year.
The company’s Norwegian operations accounted for the largest share of the harvest with 72,500 tonnes. Its farms in Scotland produced 24,000 tonnes, followed by Chile with 15,500 tonnes and Canada with 9,500 tonnes. The remainder was harvested in Ireland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland.
Mowi also released preliminary financial results, reporting an operational EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) for the group of approximately €189 million for the quarter. The blended farming cost was €5.39 per kilogram, down from €5.84 in the second quarter of 2024.
The consumer products division recorded an operational EBIT of €52 million, while the feed division had an operational EBITDA of €14 million. The group's net interest-bearing debt stood at approximately €1.89 billion at the end of the quarter. The company's complete report will be released on August 20.
