The US Navy commissioned its newest warship, the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black, in a private ceremony on Saturday, September 26.

Built by Huntington Ingalls Industries' (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division, the 160-metre vessel is the 68th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer to be delivered to the navy.

The destroyer honours Delbert D. Black, the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy.
