Macduff Ship Design wins aquaculture vessel contract

Macduff Ship Design has a new contract for the design of a 23-metre work boat, designed as a support vessel for the aquaculture market. The contract continues the relationship between Inverlussa Marine Services and Macduff Ship Design following two previous workboat designs.

Gondan delivers live fish carrier

On December 7, Astilleros Gondan delivered the vessel ‘Martin Sæle’, the yard’s first live fish carrier. 

After successfully completing sea trials, the vessel headed Bergen, her port of registry, before continuing on to Scotland, where the vessel will operate.

Gondan Shipyard in Figueras, Spain, has launched the vessel ‘Martin Sæle’, the first live fish carrier built by the yard.

The 50-metre live fish carrier has a beam of 12.6 metres and has capacity to transport up to 1,000m3 of water and fish alive in her hold.

New fish-harvesting vessel for DESS

DESS Aquaculture Shipping has placed an order for a fish-harvesting vessel from a Norwegian shipbuilder.

The FHV will be used to carry salmon from fish farms to processing plants.

Deep Sea Supply and Marine Harvest to start aquaculture JV

Deep Sea Supply and Marine Harvest have started plans to establish a 50/50 owned aquaculture shipping joint venture (JV) that is to build, own and operate aquaculture vessels.

Deep Sea Supply will establish a new 100 per cent owned subsidiary to be the 50 per cent owner of the JV and will seek to finance the JV-investment on a stand-alone basis directly through this subsidiary.
