Conoship International of the Netherlands has signed an agreement with two Bahamas-based companies to promote shipbuilding in India. Conoship is teaming up Alogship Brokers and Smart Engineering and Design Solutions (SEDS) to support Indian shipbuilding through this new exclusive partnership arrangement.

Conoship International is based in Groningen and designs short-sea vessels ranging from 600DWT to 15,000DWT. Antony Prince, President of Alogship and SEDS said that SEDS had recently opened a new design facility in Kochi, India with a qualified team of almost 100 staff. Having joined forces, Conoship and Algoship, along with SEDS, will act as partners in the design, marketing and construction of any size of multipurpose vessel, bulk carrier, chemical tanker, dredger or engineering vessel.

Discussions with a number of shipyards regarding orders for Dutch and German owners are already under way. Furthermore, the partners have agreed to use Germanisher Lloyd in their collaborative endeavours.
