By Graham Hutt
From Baird Maritime:
In the short term the timing of the release
of this fully revised fourth edition of this very valuable pilot could be
viewed as unfortunate.
Long term, however, it can only be hoped
that this fascinating part of the world will return to peace and comparative
prosperity. As this highly accurate and very up-to-date book describes, it is a
region that is well worth exploring from the sea.

War Under the Red Ensign 1914-1918 |
|

|
By Bernard Edwards
From Baird Maritime:
Plenty of books have been written about the
Merchant Navy’s role in World War Two. However, not so many come out of the
First World War. This is one of the best.

until their first sinking.

not significantly effective itself, it certainly showed enough promise to
inspire the development of modern submarines a century or so later.

Admiral Hipper Class Cruisers |
|
Wednesday, 04 May 2011 11:00 |
|
By Steve Backer
From Baird Maritime:
A book from Seaforth Maritime’s Ships Craft
series for modellers, this a lot more than that purpose would suggest.
As well as a number of good clear pictures
of well-made models of the ‘Hipper’ and her sisters, the book provides a very
good and well-illustrated history of the class.
