China State Shipbuilding Corporation has won orders up to 2012 representing 40 million DWT, which is a vast improvement on 2009 figures, says company executive Cao Yousheng in reports from Bloomberg. This has been attributed to the global economic recovery and an increase in shipping business, which has also been reflected in the doubling of Chinese shipyards’ production at the beginning of this year. Bloomberg reports that the Chinese government is initiating policies to develop the Chinese shipbuilding market. |
