China’s Yantai Raffles Shipyard has held a launching ceremony for its first elevating support vessel (ESV), one of the first of its kinds in the world. Present at the ceremony were Malcolm Farquhar, Remedial owner representative and Brian Chang, the Deputy Chairman of Yantai Raffles. This ESV, for Remedial Offshore, will combine capabilities of a jack-up platform, an ocean-going ship and an offshore accommodations platform. It will also comprise a workover drilling rig and heavylift cranes. Delivery is slated before the end of the year. |
