From Baird Maritime

Perhaps more accurately titled “The Central Eastern Atlantic Islands”, this very professionally produced pilot is typical of the very high standards that arise from the Imray Laurie/RCC Pilotage Foundation collaborations.

A large and ever increasing number of yachts go Trans-Atlantic each year from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean. Most of them pass through one or more of the archipelagos described so enticingly in this pilot. Unfortunately for their crews and the islands, very few of them stop at more than one or two of the islands on their voyages.

Ms Hammick very effectively shows them what they are missing. The islands, in their various ways, are replete with history, varied cultures and cuisines as well as fascinating geology, flora and fauna. Most importantly, they are all right on the logical route from east to west.

As with all Imray Laurie pilots, this one is equally applicable to commercial mariners as it is to the yachtsman for whom it was originally intended.
