| Chongqing Port January box volume up 98 percent from December |

The Yangtze River port of Chongqing handled 27,800TEU during the first month of this year, increasing by a dramatic 98.2 percent over December last year. According to a Xinhua report, the total tonnage of the cargoes handled by the port also rose sharply by 95.2 percent over the prior month to 1.65 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo amounted to 150,000 tonnes, rising 74.6 percent over December. Tracey Jia |
